A short film

on reflection

Theme & Universe
The Perspective
The Universe here is one that is almost like a social commentary on how beauty standards and societal pressures affects people. But in this case, we are transported to the other side where the narrative is produced through poetry to convey what the mirror truly sees when we look at it.
The Message
The artistic choices and visuals, as well as the editing, creates a familiar setting - one that mimics our mundane lives and the queries we may harbour. Yet, all of this guides us towards the optimism and the positivity the mirror has and aims to show us about ourselves.

Artistic approach to a reflection piece on the conventional beauty standards and norms. This piece tackles people's insecurities yet demonstrates the power of confidence one may have, through visual imagery and poetry.
The Genre of our Short Film is one that is more so on the Experimental side. The narrative of the poem, and the piece itself, is done through the eyes of a mirror (main character). Our focus was to convey the struggles people may have with their own insecurities yet shed some positive light on our outmost potential. The interaction between the various actors and the mirror enhances the narrative illustrated as a whole.
